CS725-F17: Visualization Implementation 6

Contents (hide)

Due: October 27, 2017 before 8:30am

The goal of this week's assignment is to build a scatterplot matrix and one other chart using R.

Setup

Create your project

For the rest of this assignment, you'll add files to this new project.

R SPLOM

Pick data either from your project or from a previous assignment (ex: ICW2, VI3, VI5) that is suitable for viewing as a scatterplot matrix (SPLOM). These would be datasets that have many quantitative attributes.

Construct a subset of the data that contains 30-100 rows and 3-5 quantitative attributes and generate a SPLOM. Make sure that you have an appropriate title and axes labels. Export the image as a PNG.

Here are a couple articles to get you started:

R Bar or Line Chart

Use the same main dataset and generate either a line chart or a bar chart using R. (This should not be exactly the same data as in the SPLOM.) Make sure that you have an appropriate title and axes labels. Export the image as a PNG.
