Students may withdraw from the course up until the last day of class, receiving a ``W'' grade.
Students who drop a course are requested to notify the instructor, even when the instructor's permission is not required.
A grade of ``I'', for Incomplete, may be given in exceptional circumstances beyond the student's control to indicate that work remains to be completed by the student after then end of the semester. Such work must be completed before the end of the following semester, or the grade automatically becomes an ``F''. The student must contact the instructor to discuss the possibility of an ``I'' grade and to negotiate the nature and schedule of the work to be completed.
