Group Website Updates

Contents:

Your team will receive a CS account to use for your team website. I strongly encourage you to make use of the tools discussed in CS 350 during your Network Conferencing Exercises (e.g., Google Drive, Google Hangouts, and Google Docs), or analogous tools.

1 Getting Started

I will email your team login credentials as soon as I receive them.

By the posted deadline post the following:

  1. “Ugly” team website (meaning do not take time to make the sites pretty).
  2. Add team member photos and bios to the site.
  3. Add reference materials (links).
  4. Add a description of the societal problem.

2 Week 5

The lecture notes for this week list the questions to which you need answers. It is anticipated that you will find the needed information from the Internet, from your mentor, and from industry experts.

You are to publish the related information on your team’s website.
You should have received login information for your CS 410 account via email.

The following information must incrementally appear on your website by the deadline:

  1. Homepage
    1. Team color identified
    2. No team should have a project name yet, that is to be determined.
    3. Links to other pages.
  2. Team Biography Page
    1. Picture of each team member and mentor
    2. Bio for each team member and mentor
  3. Reference Page
    1. Link o all reference information for research performed
  4. Problem Description
    1. Identification of the generic societal problem (problem statement)
    2. Characteristics of the problem listed
    3. What is the current process used by the intended customer to deal with the problem today? (current process flow – should be a diagram)
    4. Identify where in the current process the problem occurs and where intervention is required.

3 Week 6

Post the following on your team website:

  1. Current Process Flow Diagrams
  2. Solution Characteristics
  3. Competition Matrix

4 Module 4: Adding a Risk Matrix

The Module 4 Assignment is to create a risk matrix summarizing the analysis of technical and customer risks. The impact of each risk must be analyzed to determine - if the risk were to materialize, how critical would it impact the success of the project. This must be on a scale of one to five. Similarly, what is the likely hood of the risk occuring? Also, on a scale of one to five.

Prepare a Table with a scale of one to five on each “axis”. Probability on the x=axis and impact on the y-axis. A risk with impact and probability of 5 should be in the uppermost right corner of the matrix. Please visit www.cs.odu.edu/~cpi to see the matrices created by previous 410 teams.

Prioritize the risks as you label them. The most damaging and probable risk should be numbered as either T1 or C1, for technical and customer categories.

Also prepare a description of planned mitigations for each risk.

Make a section on your website for all of this documentation.
