Lab 2 Examples & Guidance
1 Lab 2 Template
Refer to the Lab 2 word document.
2 Examples: Sections 1 & 2
Two selected papers from previous semesters show ome of the general expectations. Even though the selected papers are very good, they are not error free.
2.1 Example 1
CS411Black_Lab2sec1&2.docx, is extremely well written, and it is formatted as required, mostly. Some issues still exist:
-
Headings are a larger font size than the body text.
-
Section 1.4 does not include a formal reference to Lab 1.
-
Table 1 in Section 2.1 is a good example of RWP vs Prototype feature comparison
-
Both MFCD diagrams (RWP and Prototype) should have been included. The developer must understand what the simulations/models replace.
-
This team included database schematics, ERDs, UI sitemaps, and similar figures in Section 3. This is fine, as long as they are included in the complete Lab 2 (i.e., in one two parts).
2.2 Example 2
Peter.pdf, contains the figures referenced above. This is well written, and is mostly formatted at required. Some issues still exist:
-
Headings are a larger font size than the body text.
-
It does not contain a Table comparing the RWP and prototype.
-
Both MFCD diagrams (RWP and Prototype) should have been included.
3 Every Project is Different
Every semester, for each team, negotiations are possible. Every project is unique, and Lab 2 requirements may be modified when deemed appropriate, by the instructor.
