Weekly Development Report

Contents:

1 Overview

During class (specifically recitation) you have been directed to track work completed by your group. This includes the work completed by individual group members and your group as a whole.

2 Formality & Grammar

The formality should fall somewhere between informal language (i.e., conversational) and formal (e.g., the language used in your Written Labs). You should strive to be grammatically correct (i.e., proofread what you write).

Unlike the labs, you are allowed to use first and second person. However, continue to avoid contractions.

3 Content

The report must be divided as shown in the example:

  1. Week Definition - The start and end dates of the previous work week. We will be flexible in how a week is defined. (e.g., Monday to Sunday and Tuesday to Monday are both acceptable weeks)

  2. Group Overview - Summary of the work completed by the group as a whole during the previous week.

  3. Individual Overview - One section per group member describing what was completed by each individual. Each individual must write his/her own section.

3.1 Example Weekly Report

I am not very creative in the example report. Your individual sections must be more detailed; “I completed item 1” would not be an acceptable work description.

Weekly Development Report 8

This is the 8th Weekly Development Report. This report summarizes the work completed from Monday, 23 October, to Thursday, 26 October.

1. Group

We completed four major tasks:

  1. Dummy Interface - the GUI is complete (i.e., the View portion of the MVC).

  2. Test Evaluation - the tests for the user authentication logic were corrected (Refer to section 2.1.2 of Report 6) to address the issues identified last week.

  3. Lab 2 Requirements Correction - during development we identified 2 requirements that were overlooked (i.e., needed to be added).

  4. Build System Update - Test automation was updated. A typo in our Gradle Build file was corrected (we omitted the JUnit dependency line).

2. Individual

2.1 John Smith

I did some stuff.

2.2 Tommy Jones

I completed item 4.

2.3 Ralph Ralphson

I completed item 3.

2.4 Mary Jones

I completed items 1 and 2.

4 Weekly Development Schedule

Each team member is tasked with making their own individual schedule for prototype development work to be done each week through Week 14. The schedule is to be posted on the team website.

At the end of each week, each student is required to report on the status of their development as compared to their schedule. This will be done by making updates to the page on the team website.

This should align with the team’s selected scheduling tool (e.g., Gantt Chart, Trello, Story Board).

5 Each Week

  1. Each team member should address the tasks assigned to them for this week.
  2. Each team must assess their accomplishments, making adjustment to the Gantt chart or schedule as necessary.
