The grades pages on this site are updated hourly.

When will Things be Graded?

Programming assignments are graded automatically. Typically, you will receive an emailed report within a few minutes of submitting.

If there is an issue with connecting to the server used for grading, a back-up process will kick once an hour to process any ungraded programming assignments.

If more than an hour goes by before you receive a grade report, contact zeil@cs.odu.edu or post a note in the “Janitor’s Closet” forum on Blackboard.
Non-programming assignments, quizzes, and exams require manual grading.

We try to have these graded within a week of the due date.

Inquiries about grades on these before that week is up will not be welcomed and will likely be answered with nothign more than a link to this page.

Note that grades may start to appear in Blackboard and, from there, be copied to the “Scores and Statistics” page before grading is actually completed. That’s just the way that Blackboard works, and there’s not much we can do about it.

Grades are computed on the ODU 4-pt scale. The conversion from percentage grades on individual assignments & tests to the 4-pt scale is described here.
