Abstract
Millions of people use the Internet every day for many tasks. It is used for personal business and communication and well as entertainment. Many online services and websites require a user to sign up for them, and most of them require the user to login with a password.
Password authentication is not secure. Passwords can be stolen through phishing, trojan horses, keylogging, or other methods. Once a password is stolen, it is no longer effective for authentication. A stolen password can result in severe damage to a victim, such as all their money being taken out of a bank account because their password was lost. Businesses lose money covering customers' losses from fraud, and need to use a stronger form of authentication to prevent password fraud.
The goal of CertAnon is to provide two-factor authentication to all websites. CertAnon will provide authentication for any website that chooses to implement our system, at little to no cost to the website. We enable all websites to provide their customers with secure and anonymous two-factor authentication.
Anyone can use CertAnon and safely access all of their participating online accounts. Once a customer has purchased a CertAnon SecurID token and registered it through our website, they can securely access all of their online accounts with one token. Our product will be available to both businesses and individual Internet users to use for their authentication needs.
