Prototype Definition
The prototype was build to illistrate the way the final product would work. This prototype would not work in a real envirnment simply because it is not complete. It will perform some of the major function of the program but some of the functions that are used are just for looks and do not really do anything but show the user how it is intended to work. We spent a good deal of time implementing the bar code scanner. This scanner will scan a bar code and tell the Restaurant Assistant what to do with it. Also the prototype will show some of the reports that can be used by the manager or owner of the restaurat to make better use of their resources. The prototype will also show that the program needs a username and password to limit the user in what task they would be able to do.
